Hi everyone, I have put a small message on our P2 group on Office 365. Could you all try logging in to your child’s Office 365 account and respond if you can read the message. If you have any issues please let me know at the end of the day or email our school admin account.
Just a little reminder to say reading books will be swapped on Monday so please bring in your book bags in then. Enjoy reading in a cosy corner and have a lovely weekend everyone! 😊
Whilst somehow fitting in time for Literacy and Numeracy this week, we have gone a little bit Space crazy! 🪐
We started by learning about the Phases of the Earth’s Moon. Some children have been keeping track of what phase the moon using the ‘visual wheel’ we made at school, at home. 🌍 🌓 How many days does it take for the moon to orbit the Earth?
Then we learnt about the Earth orbiting the Sun and that it takes 365 days for the Earth to go round the Sun. This led to us learning Earth was 1 of 8 planets that orbit the Sun. We really enjoyed learning this mnemonic to help us remember the order of the planets from the Sun.
We have then taken parts in lots of activities to practise the order of the planets and learn more facts about them!
We have also really enjoyed watching Planet Cosmo at snack time, here is a link to the full series if anyone wants to watch these at home as they are FULL of great facts about the planets!
